Saving energy and protecting the climate are quite rightly red-hot topics in the media. In the light of this consumers are increasingly looking for convenient ways to save energy in the interests of protecting the climate. To make it easier for professional sales personnel, installing technicians and consumers to make the right choice of appliance CLAGE has introduced a new logo as a guide. This logo will be affixed to all particularly power and water saving, environmentally friendly CLAGE instantaneous water heaters. The new logo will be affixed to all sales packaging and displays with immediate effect. The logo is also affixed to the appliances themselves by means of an adhesive foil, which can be easily removed and leaves no sticky residue.
Hot Water Requirements
With storage water tanks the water is heated to temperatures above 65 °C and stored in large quantities, without it being used to the full extent. It is a fact that hot water is often only required in smaller quantities. Thus, it is more efficient to heat only as much water as is actually required by installing an instantaneous water heater at each point of use.
Saving Water By Keeping Supply Pipes Short
Avoid long water supply lines: a 10-meter long copper pipeline (22-mm diameter) will result in 3.2 litres of water running unnecessarily down the drain each time you wait for hot water. With a decentralized hot-water supply you avoid unnecessary long water supply lines; in doing so you save water costs and the considerable thermal losses of a hot water circulation.
Required Temperatures
Due to the required quantities of mixed water as well as for reasons of hygiene water is heated to high temperatures above 65 °C. In fact, hot water is used only at considerably lower temperatures. The required water temperatures differ at the different points of use. That is why it is more efficient to heat the water to the temperature required at the respective dispensing point by means of electronically controlled instantaneous water heaters. Adding cold water to regulate the temperature is no longer necessary.
